The global business environments present opportunities and challenges to investors, companies, entrepreneurs and graduate talents in the mining industry. The inherent risks of these opportunities and challenges are real and depend on a variety of uncertain variables arising from the geo-political environments, transparency in resource reporting, dealing with cultures, and technological and talent challenges.

The 2013 Innovations in Mining Engineering Conference brings together industry leaders to examine these broader issues under the theme, “Exploring Global Mining Frontiers: Challenges and Opportunities for Winning the Competition.”

In particular, this conference will explore issues pertaining to investment risks and opportunities, technology transfer risks and challenges, novel technologies and knowledge gap, global venture capital acquisition and financing, international project management, global minerals engineering education, global sustainable development and global mine safety and health.

The conference will also feature three executive forums with keynote speakers on global opportunities and challenges, talent for global competition and a student forum.

Short courses at this conference will cover mine ground control, diesel particulate matter, surface mine bench design and truck-shovel simulation.

On behalf of the Technical Organizing Committee, we would like to invite you to attend the IME 2013 Conference in St. Louis, Missouri September 09 – 12, 2013.  We look forward to great presentations, discussions and networking within technically-focused sessions.
